I have a Mosler file cabinet safe, purchased as military surplus (secret category). I know the combination, but it stopped opening. I have tried jarring it at each number, lifting the drawer slightly to relieve pressure, jiggling the opening handle, etc. I haqve several questions. At this point (closed and locked) What is the best way to relieve pressure/friction so that the innards can move easier? Should spray oil be used? If it has to be drilled, can it be repaired afterwards? What parts should I lubricate to avoid this happening again? If I am unable to open it myself, I will need the services of someone who knows Mosler safes. I live just south of Richmond, Virginia, about where 288 and 95 intersect. 3/19/09 |
