Guys would the steel in a vault door built for a bank in the 30's differ in strength or quality from a door built in the early 60's? EX if I had two door options for a wine vault - both 10" thick. One made by York in the 30's and one made by Mosler in the 60's both same price approx and both aesthetically pleasing, from a strength perspective, which one is better? This is hypothetical at this juncture but potential research for a major project. I have been told by a contractor friend that the door from the 60's would be far superior but he is a regular contractor so figured would ask experts. Thanks so much for any help. -Fred |
