Actually, I think they are a pretty good idea ***for items of limited value***. I wouldn't keep thousands in it, but for a few things, why not? Just make sure it "blends in" with the other items around it. A fake can of tire cleaner would look conspicuous in your bedroom. So would a nice hard-bound copy of Moby Dick, on a shelf full of Dr. Seuss and Berenstain Bears books. Personally, I think it's foolish to keep valuables in a Sentry safe. Not that I don't like Sentrys - I have one myself - but I use it for what it was intended to be used for. FIRE PROTECTION!!! I keep vehicle titles, birth certificates, insurance papers, wills, etc, in it. For what items of value that I keep in the house (not much), I have a real safe. My wife and I are not "into" expensive jewelry. I don't "collect" things like coins or stamps. And I really don't keep too much cash in the house. (That may change after next Tuesday.)
